Introduction

Aspen CCN is a Cloud Caching Network service. It aims to deliver data to users globally with fastest delivery path. Whole CCN service leverages on Power-All Aspen cloud computing platform which is one of the largest cloud computing union in Asia.

Aspen CCN service leverages completely on top of Power-All Aspen Cloud Storage. CCN user can distribute massive data globally through Power-All cloud storage centers in different countries. Since it works on top of cloud storage, it implies that CCN service is also a pay-as-you-go on demand service

Pricing and Billing

In current stage, Aspen CCN service is offered free of charge. Customers only need to pay those transfer and storage from Aspen Cloud Storage. All data replications as well as CCN management tools are offered free of charge

How Aspen CCN Works

Aspen CCN service is divided into 2 parts, Data Distribution and Data Delivery.
Below animation can show the basic concept.

For Data Distribution, it means how to upload your data to global CCN network.
Below are the steps required to distribute your data:

  1. Register your Aspen Cloud Storage account at http://storage.cloudwww.com/
(as CCN is entirely leveraged on Cloud Storage, you need the Cloud Storage account)
  2. Register your Aspen CCN account at http://cache.cloudwww.com/
During registration, you are required to enter Cloud Storage's Access ID and Secret key.
Both of them can be found from control panel of Cloud Storage.
  3. Activate your CCN account by clicking on the confirmation email.
  4. Sign in CCN control panel
  5. Click "Create Domain" button to register your domain. The domain here means which domain your data will be distributed. For example, if you have data to be distributed under domain name www.yourdomain.com, you can type www.yourdomain.com here
  6. Click on the registered domain, you can create folders or upload file. Assume clicking on "Upload File" button, you can select local file to be uploaded, also select the data replication rule as well as ACL. For data replication rule, it means you can choose where your data will be replicated. Assume you want to distribute your data to Malaysia, you can select Malaysia IDC, then the master data will be replicated to Malaysia cloud storage center.
  7. For each uploaded file, CCN system will generate a download link in below format :
    http://[generated_id].a.ccn.mygrid.asia/[your_filename]
Since replication work takes time and different cloud centers having different replication speed, the generated CCN link will be unavailable before first replication task has been completed.
  8. Copy and paste this CCN file link to your website. Now when your data is ready be delivered to your customers over Aspen CCN network.

For Data Delivery, the flow is as below:

  1. End user clicks on the CCN link on www.yourdomain.com
  2. This CCN link is pointed to Power-All Aspen CCN Center (currently located in HK).
Once CCN Center received the request, it analyzes the location of end user and selects the nearest cloud storage centers with the data replicated to serve this request.
This process is handled by Power-All's GNTM (Global Network Traffic Manager)
  3. Once GNTM selected nearest cloud center, the request will be redirected, then the end user can download the data from nearest center directly.
